September 20, 2022 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM (HST)

Description

In partnership with AGC of Colorado, we offer you this upcoming three-unit series Superintendent Training Bootcamp held in a live-virtual format. In this series, participants will learn about scheduling considerations for construction as well as critical building methodologies, structural and building envelope systems, and major scopes of building systems, including HVACS, plumbing and MEP.

The Essentials of Field Management / Superintendent Bootcamp is designed to expand the knowledge of construction professionals who are looking to grow in their career. Ideal candidates for this course include field and project engineers, forepersons, assistant superintendents and anyone looking to gain a thorough understanding of the commercial construction building process. Sessions include a deep dive into building a project from the ground up.

Unit 1: Sitework and Foundations

In this unit, students will learn about scheduling considerations for construction as well as critical building methodologies and requirements. There is also a significant focus on sitework and foundations.

Session 1: Project Set-Up, Surveying & Layout, September 20
Project Set-up

This session describes the initial setup of a project and the people involved. Additionally, students will learn about site utilization and what is needed up front. By the end of this training, students will have general knowledge about how to successfully set up a project before construction begins.

Surveying and Layout Methodologies
Students will be provided with information to help them understand the difference between the surveying and layout process. This training will outline the step-by-step process for surveying and layouts for projects.

Session 2: Project Scheduling, September 22
Project Scheduling

These utilities generally include electricity, gas, water and sewage and communication services. Additionally, they may include irrigation systems, steam lines, medical gases, inert gases and other liquids/gases required for laboratory operations. There are many considerations that must be made when dealing with site utilities.

Session 4: Geotechnical Reports, Foundations and Material Handling Solutions, September 29
Geotechnical Report
This session is designed for those individuals who will utilize Geotechnical Reports as part of their duties and responsibilities. This session provides a thorough understanding of the significance of the Geotech Report. Attendees will gain a working knowledge of how to interpret the report as well as how to implement recommendations made in the report.
